my biggest problem is that I drive the same road with the V1 as I did with the 8500. With the V1 I am far more annoyed with the false alarms. I am almost positive if I had the V1 for a year and then tried the Passport, I would not be as comfortable with it. For almost twice the money, (V1 for $400, 8500 on eBay for ~$200) I was hoping to have twice the performance. If I wasn't used to the 8500, I would say the performance was better but not twice as good. I think I am selling my V1, but I will still recommend it to people if they have no experience with either and price is not an issue.
